The conversion work LMB carried out at this Thornton Heath property was particularly important. The property owner suffered from a physical disability, and her daughter was in the process of moving back in with her in order to provide the required care.

The loft extension was needed to accommodate the daughter’s growing family.

The property itself was a large semi-detached, and a permitted development application had been granted to the architect for two double bedrooms and a bathroom.

LMB worked quickly and efficiently to a strict 10 week programme, ensuring that the conversion was completed and decorated by us before the arrival of the daughter’s new baby.

The work consisted of a hip to gable and L-shaped dormer, with a rear addition built over the flat roof. Special attention had to be paid to the floor, which required reinforcements in order to support the mobility aids of the property owner.

LMB were selected to carry out this specialised project by the client after we were able to demonstrate similar work completed in the local area, and every element of the conversion was inspected by solicitors acting on behalf of a care trust who were funding the project.
